Author-Publisher Readings and Presentations to Schools, Libraries, Community Groups, and Organizations

Author/publisher Deana Driver and several other DriverWorks Ink authors are available for speaking and reading presentations to school and community groups. Saskatchewan schools, libraries, community groups, and writing groups can contact the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild for an Author Reading subsidy which provides SWG members with remuneration for these author readings. Several DriverWorks Ink authors, including author-publisher Deana J. Driver, can be invited to present workshops on topics such as writing, editing, publishing, marketing, and entrepreneurship. DriverWorks publisher Deana Driver can also be contacted about editing and publishing services as well as for school and library discounts on book orders.

Students in Bethune SK enjoy DriverWorks Ink books

“Deana Driver came to our school for a presentation and spoke to our students about her books, writing and publishing. She is an awesome presenter, she kept them all engaged, and hearing the stories about how the books came to be was so enlightening and made them even more interesting to get and read. The story about a shy, farm girl going on to be a journalist, then writer, editor and publisher, really inspired some of our students as to how far you can go and what you can do if you try. She gave them great insight into how to start writing and keep going. We very much enjoyed her visit!”  Elaine Jantz, Librarian, Viscount Central School

“Thanks, Deana, for your presentation to the Superannuated Teachers Regina Chapter assembly. Your “show & tell” style, casual with a touch of humour, was very well received. A successful afternoon!”  Shirley Dodds, Program Convener.

“Deana is an engaging storyteller.  She draws you in with stories from books she has penned as well as from authors she has published.  Her stories make you laugh and some make you cry.  I highly recommend inviting Deana to speak and you definitely want to check out her books – a Saskatchewan Author and Publisher!”  Patty Williams, Glenavon Library Board member

“Deana had the room fully captivated, as we listened to her very familiar story of growing up on the farm. We did not want the presentation to end as we enjoyed her passion for the many books she has written, involving local stories about cancer and hope, all which hit close to home.”  Glenavon Branch Librarian Angela Englot

“Thank you so much for visiting our small school. Everyone is still talking about it and looking forward to reading several of the books you introduced us to. We loved hearing your story, and your advice was inspirational to both student and adult alike.”  Andrea Ostapovitch, St. Theodore School

I wanted to tell you how valuable your presentation was for our Grade 11 ELA students. As a teacher of the ELA 20 curriculum, I spend a lot of time teaching and guiding the students through the writing process. This curriculum is heavy with writing tasks; you validated everything I have attempted to teach my students! Thank you for that. I also thank you for speaking to both fiction and non-fiction writing, even though it appears you are most comfortable with the non-fiction. This was definitely the most valuable presentation I have had my students attend in terms of relevant and insightful information as an ELA student.”  Holly Dmyterko, Carlton Comprehensive High School ELA Teacher
