Description: Volume 2 of Don’t They Kick When You Do That builds on the success of Dr. Gary Hoium’s first book. Serving a diverse animal population and their owners from a mixed-animal practice in southeastern Saskatchewan has provided Dr. Hoium with much job satisfaction and many fascinating and/or entertaining stories. Dr. Hoium’s wit and sense of humour invite you to further explore these animal and human encounters, experiences, adventures, and stories from his perspective as an “Animal Doc.” From his childhood days to his 2021 retirement, Dr. Hoium’s love of animals and humans is evident, endearing, and often downright hilarious. No two days were ever the same. Whether they weigh ounces or over a tonne, each animal presents its own unique challenges, risks, and dangers. Some bite, some lick, some fight, and some kick. Heck, some of that is true of their human owners too! Read along and enjoy more tales from this engaging, amusing Prairie veterinarian.
