Description
By Mary Harelkin Bishop and Deana J. Driver
Para adaptive snow sports in Saskatchewan trace their beginnings to the mid-1970s. Since then, eight Saskatchewan Paralympians and hundreds of other competitive and recreational athletes have enjoyed participating in adaptive nordic or alpine skiing, biathlon, or snowboarding. Key organizations behind these programs and opportunities are the Saskatchewan Ski Association Para Adaptive Snow Sports (SASKI-PASS) and SaskSport. Retired educator Mary Harelkin Bishop and retired journalist Deana J. Driver co-authored the book, documenting historical events and the stories of the Paralympians and the people involved in building these sport disciplines in Saskatchewan and beyond.
